Philanthropy

DANBRU has been a proud Corporate Sponsor of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation since 1999. At DANBRU, we feel a very important need to not only be focused in providing the best Quality Service possible, but also focus on giving back to the community and supporting a great cause. That’s why every year DANBRU supports the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation through donations and joint advertising..
The PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION (PCRF) was established in 1982 to improve the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant diseases. The founders included parents, doctors, friends, and business and community leaders who joined forces to translate laboratory research into immediate treatment for children with cancer.
Since that time, PCRF’s dedicated volunteers have raised over $15 million for pediatric cancer research. The Foundation currently funds studies at the PCRF Laboratory at Children’s Hospital of New York at Columbia University and City of hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. In addition, PCRF also supports the PCRF Research Consortium comprised of Children’s Hospital of New York, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Mattel Children’s Hospital at University of California, Los Angeles. In funding translational research at these medical facilities, PCRF ensures that laboratory findings are made available immediately to patients who benefit by receiving the best cancer care possible. PCRF also annually funds the National Marrow Donor program in Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis, Minnesota through the Michelle Carew Family Foundation to promote the recruitment of donors into the national bone marrow donor bank.
Research results are reported worldwide through major medical journals and at professional conferences. Information on successful, state-of-the-art treatments are made available by the PCRF Laboratory, as well as other investigators funded by PCRF, in presentations of their findings at both national and international scientific meetings and many scientific publications.
PCRF is an independent, nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer 24- member Board of Directors compromised of community and business leaders, and parents of oncology patients. The Foundation is privately supported by donations from individuals, charitable foundations and businesses, and through special events, projects and PCRF product sales. A dedicated group of volunteers donate their time and talents to ensure that over 80% of funds go directly into research.
DANBRU is proud to be a sponsor of the PCRF and everything that it represents. We thank you for your constant support of DANBRU, which makes all of this possible.
